Take Care of Veterans, Whatever It Takes

"...we cannot allow ourselves to lose interest in the soldier and the veteran even if we have lost interest in the war. We sent them to war and we have a sacred obligation to take care of them when they come home."

Matthew -

Thank you for this post. As the wife of an OIF Veteran turned advocate (by necessity!) for veterans and families everywhere, I LOVE the quote above from your article. You so eloquently state what I hope our nation as a whole will realize - that we are failing the men & women who stood in the gap for us. We are allowing them (and those who love them) to languish, and many to sadly die, because the war has lost its luster and the surge of patriotism caused by 9-11-01 has waned. May we each personally decide to stand up and take interest in our returning heroes so that we can change this shameful trend.

Thanks,
